SUPERMENTOR

Supermentor is a platform which provides and opportunity for iconic figures and high achievers to share their life experience, work ethics and secrets of success with the general public, especially the youth.

Supermentor was initiated by Ambassador Dino Patti Djalal in 1 February 2014. A passionate activist on youth affaris, Dino found that the most frequent question young people would always ask him was: “How can I be a successful person? What tips can you give me from our experience? Can you be my mentor? “ Dino quickly realized that the answers to these questions would not likely be found in academic textbooks and classrooms, but would mostly come from the school of life. There is rich reservoir of wisdom and know-hows that can be shared by those who have struggled on the road to success. Hence, the idea of “Supermentor”

The first Supermentor session took place in a small cafe in kemang, south of Jakarta, involving 21 young people (21 representing ‘the 21st century’) from various backgrounds (gedner, religion, ethnicity, economic status, and age groups). The experience convinced Dino that the oth were anxious about their future, yet they had an insatible thirst for inspiration, and strong determination to learn and succeed. The led Dino to invite iconic figures to conduct their Supermentor sessions. Dino thought it was time to take Supermentor to the next level: to evolve from small sessions of 21 to a much bigger forum of 1,000++ audiences. What would be known as “Kultum Supermentor/Supermentor series”

The unique value of Supermentor is that it reminds our young people and general public that a time of rising cynicism and negativity, there are still plenty of good people and goodwill in our society, and highlighting this will motivate them to become a better person. Many of the young people who attended Supermentor have openly proclaimed in social media that they have become more positive and more hopeful ever since.

To date, Supermentor as well as the smaller supermentor sessions continue. We are trying to do more sessions outside of Jakarta to spread the good message of positivism and can-do-ism. We are determined to cultivate this “industry of inspiration” to prepare youthful minds for a better world ahead.
